Markdown to PDF Converter
Write Markdown on the left, check the preview, then export a print-ready PDF.
What this does
Markdown to PDF without a LaTeX toolchain, a Word install or an account. Your browser renders the Markdown and exports the rendered page to PDF.
Common uses
- Turning a README or a spec into a document you can email
- Producing a CV that you keep in Markdown
- Exporting notes into a format a reviewer can annotate
Page sizes and margins
The export targets A4 by default. Markdown has no page concept, so two settings decide how a document paginates — page size and margin. The pairs below are the ones people most often need to convert.
| You have | Choose | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A US resume | Letter (216 × 279 mm) | US printers default to Letter; A4 clips the right margin |
| Anything for Europe or Asia | A4 (210 × 297 mm) | Standard outside North America |
| A cover page | A4 + 25 mm margin | Leaves room for a signature block |
| Dense reference notes | A4 + 10 mm margin | Fits roughly 15% more lines per page |
Unit note, since PDF settings mix them: 1 inch = 25.4 mm, so a 1-inch margin is 25.4 mm, and A4 is 8.27 × 11.69 inches against Letter’s 8.5 × 11 inches.
How it works
The preview is rendered with marked; the export uses html2pdf.js, which rasterises the page and writes a PDF. You will see a brief pause on long documents — that is the export running, not a network request.
FAQ
Can I keep the PDF text searchable? Yes — the text layer is preserved, so PDF search and copy work normally.
Does it handle maths? Not LaTeX maths. For formula-heavy documents a local Pandoc pipeline still wins.
